Foodies of all stripes have always found refuge in Florida, and the plant-based community is no exception. I set out to find some of Florida’s best hidden vegan and vegetarian gems last weekend, and I found a few places that are well worth the trip.
To start, I ended up in Miami at PLNT Burger, a hip small restaurant hidden in the center of the city. The focus here is on satisfying plant-based comfort meals. I got their “PLNT Burger” and was astounded by how tasty and juicy the patties was; it had the same ideal taste as a traditional beef burger but made entirely of plant-based ingredients. Their oat milk “Milkshakes” were irresistible, and their crispy fries were the ideal accompaniment. I wanted more since they were richly sweet, smooth, and creamy. If you want a quick, filling bite without sacrificing flavor, this is a terrific place to go.
I then traveled to Farmacy Vegan Kitchen + Bakery in Tampa. This jewel, which is hidden in plain sight, has an amazing array of plant-based menu selections. The smokey, crunchy, and spicy flavors of their cauliflower tacos were all perfectly balanced when I tried them. The house-made avocado crema elevated the tastes, which were hearty and satisfying. I had to sample their vegan cinnamon rolls for dessert, and I must say that they were incredibly delicious, fluffy, and gooey. For those who enjoy plant-based cuisine, it’s a welcoming place that resembles a tiny secret paradise.
These undiscovered treasures demonstrate how flourishing Florida’s plant-based industry is. These places are absolutely worth seeing, regardless of your dietary restrictions—vegan, vegetarian, or just curious!
